Terms of service

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website and services available at bitstarter.ai ("Platform"), operated by Bitstarter AI Ltd ("Bitstarter", "we", "our", "us").

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Nature of Services

The Platform provides data and information tools such as, but not limited to: dashboards, analytics, chat forum and related social features, and subnet rating tools for the Bittensor (TAO) network, non-custodial wallet view and non custodial-staking (Services).

The Platform provides Services in the form of a non-custodial wallet view, enabling the user to connect its own wallet via WalletConnect and non-custodial staking. Note that these Services are strictly non-custodial: Bitstarter never has access to your private keys or assets.

Wallet connection is currently used only to view your balances and portfolio. No financial transactions, staking, or transfers are enabled.

2. User Accounts

To access the Services, you must create an account.

You are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining the security of your login credentials.

Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.

3. Wallet Connection

When you connect a wallet, you authorize the Platform to read publicly available blockchain data linked to your wallet address (e.g. but not limited to, balances and portfolio composition).

Bitstarter does not store or control your private keys and cannot initiate any transactions on your behalf. You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and devices.

4. Non-Custodial Staking

4.1 General

The Platform may provide interfaces or integrations that allow you to interact with smart contracts, protocols, or blockchain networks to participate in non-custodial staking ("Staking Services").

4.2 Non-Custodial Nature

Bitstarter does not hold, manage, or control your digital assets.

Any staking actions are executed directly by you via your connected wallet.

Bitstarter cannot access your private keys and cannot initiate, cancel, or modify staking transactions on your behalf.

4.3 Third-Party Protocols

Bitstarter does not operate, maintain, or guarantee the performance or security of Bittensor or any other open-source protocol.

By using the Staking Services, you acknowledge that your interaction is solely between you and the Bittensor protocol.

4.4 Rewards and Risks

You may be eligible to receive rewards from staking as determined by the blockchain protocol. Bitstarter cannot guarantee the amount, timing, or receipt of any rewards.

Participation in staking through crowdfunding involves risks. You are solely responsible for assessing these risks before participating.

Bitstarter does not provide investment, financial, or tax advice in connection with staking. Any decisions you make regarding staking are your own responsibility.

4.5 User Responsibility

You are fully responsible for:

  • Ensuring you understand the staking process and associated risks.
  • Maintaining the security of your wallet, devices, and private keys.
  • Complying with applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction regarding staking.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Platform complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.

6. Use of the Platform

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for unlawful purposes.
  • Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Platform.
  • Misuse or commercially exploit the Platform's data without consent.

7. Risks & Disclaimers

Bitstarter provides users with the opportunity to 'pledge' (stake) TAO tokens in return for Alpha token emissions. The Platform facilitates informational services for users, including staking to emergent subnets on the Bittensor protocol.

Nothing on the Platform constitutes investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation.

You are responsible for independently verifying information before relying on it.

The user understands that Bitstarter does not hold a license and is not under supervision of a financial authority. No financial services are provided by Bitstarter, and no customer protection according to MiCA is governing the Services.

The services provided by Bitstarter do not constitute regulated financial services and are not covered by the EU Regulation on Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA).

As a customer, you are therefore not entitled to the customer protections that apply to regulated financial services.

8. No Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Bitstarter cannot guarantee the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the Platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

Bitstarter shall not be liable for any losses or damages arising from:

  • Reliance on information displayed on the Platform.
  • Errors, omissions, or delays in data.
  • Issues with wallet connections, including third-party failures.
  • Technical failures, outages, or service interruptions.

10. Intellectual Property

Content, branding, and design of the Platform are owned by Bitstarter.

Individual users maintain their own intellectual property.

Aspiring subnet teams maintain their own intellectual property.

11. Data Protection & Privacy

Bitstarter processes personal data in accordance with GDPR and other applicable laws.

This includes account details, watchlists, portfolios, wallet connection data, and user-generated content (e.g. comments). For details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

12. Amendments

Bitstarter reserves the right to update these Terms as and when it deems necessary. Material changes will be communicated on the Platform before they take effect.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by EU laws in the jurisdiction of Cyprus. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in Cypriot courts.
